Unlocking Inclusion: Introduction
  • Description
Unlocking Inclusion: Fostering Disability Awareness and Empathy Through Education and Escape Room Experiences

Unlocking Inclusion aims to increase awareness, understanding, and acceptance of disabilities among primary school students through innovative, gamified learning approaches. The project addresses the persistent barriers to inclusive education by promoting the social model of disability, which focuses on removing environmental, attitudinal, and communication obstacles rather than “fixing” individuals.

By using escape room experiences and experiential learning, the project creates engaging and meaningful opportunities for children to develop empathy, respect, and positive attitudes toward peers with disabilities. At the same time, teachers will be equipped with practical tools, training, and structured resources to implement inclusive practices in their classrooms.

Through transnational cooperation, Unlocking Inclusion strengthens schools’ capacity to foster inclusive environments, promote social cohesion, and contribute to long-term
