International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on March 8th
to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements
of women.
It is also a day to raise awareness about gender equality and
advocate for women’s rights. The purpose of International Women’s
Day is to promote gender equality and to highlight the various
challenges women face, including discrimination, violence, and unequal
opportunities in many areas of life.
The day is an opportunity to
reflect on progress made towards gender equality, as well as to push for
further action to address remaining inequalities.
